There is always something fun about a road trip, one weekend we just got in the car and just drove. We ended up way up the coast from where we lived and found the most wonderful street fair celebrating avocados. They had almost every imaginable use ever thought up for an avocado and for only a dollar you got to take home a huge bag. There was no great moral to the story or any spiritual revelations, other than sometimes just be open to surprises - you never known you might go home with a huge sack of avocados. :)

dz59001[at]gmail[dot]comDenise Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17743337429214149474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118601647433904538.post-74220249167917275132011-07-27T22:57:30.177-05:002011-07-27T22:57:30.177-05:00When I was about 12, my family crossed the Nullabo...When I was about 12, my family crossed the Nullabor Plain from Adelaide to Perth, AUSTRALIA. It was a dirt road back then. Hundreds of miles of nothingness, but dirt, sun & scrubby bushes. Several times we actually saw Aborigines by the side of the road with spears. It was memorable. When ever we saw another car we al went nuts, waving & shouting. The other cars did too.

marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)comMary Prestonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02201076939557413255noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118601647433904538.post-18989928148443118102011-07-27T22:39:36.414-05:002011-07-27T22:39:36.414-05:00Hi

We've been traveling the whole day and asked for directions and the ones given were wrong and we ended up in a mountain road in the middle of the night. That road seemed to have no end and both my mom and I wanted to go to the bathroom so bad that we almost stopped in the middle of nowhere to "go". Fortunately we found a gas station (in the middle of nowhere I swear)... anyway, it was quite an experience. We promised not to ask for directions again or ask a few people before taking the road.
Thanks for this giveaway.

Daniela.
dany7578@hotmail.comDANIELAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02740528619528541680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118601647433904538.post-55066661412750379962011-07-27T20:58:49.860-05:002011-07-27T20:58:49.860-05:00Na,

I had a camera disaster on my road trip to Winnemucca too. Only I'd forgotten about it until I read your post. I had this brand new digital camera. And I got all distracted and LEFT IT, yup--you guessed it, LEFT IT in a restaurant and when I remembered and went back it was gone. It took a couple days of road tripping until the sting lessened a little bit! Great story. Thanks for sharing and thanks for participating in the giveaway. Good luck!Laura A. H. We were aiming for 7-10 days of lots of sight-seeing and fun towns to visit. It was eventful alright but not in a good way. The van broke down, we were chased by an unleashed pit bull, got lost on a very isolated trucking route (eerie), it unexpectedly snowed on the return trip and we ended losing all our pics because the memory card was corrupted. Whew. At least we did get to spend time together as a family! :-)

Cambonified(at)yahoo(dot)comNanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2118601647433904538.post-37322095833821951752011-07-27T11:51:41.473-05:002011-07-27T11:51:41.473-05:00Dear Tishia,

OOO! OUCH...Dear Rain Maiden,

SO nice to meet you.

OOO! OUCH! That hurts. Yeah, I remember when I was little and we took a road trip from Chicago [where I grew up] to Colorado, and my sis was SUPER sick all the way through Nebraska. Um, yeah. It's a long way through Nebraska from East to West, but even longer when your sis is like, PULL OVER...every five minutes. Poor gal! It was not so fun. My Dad drove like a bat out of hell, but I was the one who got lost. At one point I was pulled over in Texas.
