Title: Night School (Night School #1)
Author: C.J. Daugherty
Allie's world is falling apart...
She hates her school. Her brother has run away. And she's just been arrested.
Again.
Now her parents are sending her away to a boarding school where she doesn't know a soul.
But instead of hating her new school, Allie finds she's happy there. She's making friends. And then there's Sylvain, a suave French student who openly flirts with her. And Carter, the brooding loner who seems to have her back.
Soon, though, Allie discovers Cimmeria Academy is no ordinary school. Nothing there is as it seems. And her new friends are hiding dangerous secrets.

Title: Dark Flight (The Shadow Slayers #3)
Author: Cassi Carver
Kara has been training
for months to help take down Brakken-the merciless black-wing who is
making life hell for the Demiare. But when Julian discovers a scout has
been tracking Kara, he wants her out of the fight-even if it means
breaking her heart in the process.
Gavin isn't much better. He's already lost so much to Brakken and has no intention of allowing the woman he loves to be the next sacrifice. He and Julian have their hands full trying to fight Brakken's army and keep Kara safe, especially after her recent visit to the mythical white-wings. Since her return, she's been acting decidedly...strange.
With a terrible battle looming, Kara doesn't have time to think about her conflicted feelings for Gavin and Julian-or the fact that she's developed an unnatural taste for Gavin's blood. But if she thought it was complicated evading mysterious scouts and fending off vicious black-wings, she's learning that's nothing compared to loving two strong-willed men.
Warning: This book contains angels that aren't what they seem, a heroine with mad midwifery skills, and a metamorphosis that will change life as we knew it.

Title: Praefatio (Praefatio #1)
Author: Georgia McBride
Seventeen-year-old Grace Ann Miller is no ordinary runaway. After having been missing for weeks, Grace is found on the estate of international rock star Gavin Vault, half-dressed and yelling for help. Over the course of twenty-four hours Grace holds an entire police force captive with incredulous tales of angels, demons, and war; intent on saving Gavin from lockup and her family from worry over her safety. Authorities believe that Grace is ill, suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, the victim of assault and a severely fractured mind. Undeterred, Grace reveals the secret existence of dark angels on earth, an ancient prophecy and a wretched curse steeped in Biblical myth. Grace’s claims set into motion an ages-old war, resulting in blood, death and the loss of everything that matters. But are these the delusions of an immensely sick girl, or could Grace’s story actually be true? Praefatio is Grace’s account of weeks on the run, falling in love and losing everything but her faith. When it’s sister against brother, light versus darkness, corrupt police officers, eager doctors and accusing journalists, against one girl with nothing but her word as proof: who do you believe?

Title: The Dark Shore (The Atlanteans #2)
Author: Kevin Emerson
BEWARE THE GODS AND
THEIR HORRORS. Owen and Lilly have escaped Camp Eden, but the next step
on their journey to find Atlantis and protect it from Paul and Project
Elysium involves crossing the perilous wastelands of a wrecked planet.
And unlike in EdenWest, where bloody truths were kept hidden beneath the
surface, out here the horrors live bright beneath the poisonous sun.
With
treachery at every turn, Owen has no choice but to bring his wounded
clan to the dark shores of Desenna, a city built from the ashes of
EdenSouth. Desenna's blood-soaked walls may hold the key to Owen's
journey in the form of the third Atlantean as well as a deeper
understanding of the true purpose of the Three, but there are also
secrets lurking in the shadows, waiting to be unleashed, and once they
rise, there may be no escape.
Filled with action,
mind-bending twists, and powerful scenes of emotional and physical
sacrifice, THE DARK SHORE takes readers on a journey to a question so
great, even the gods have trouble answering it: What would you be
willing to do, to save humanity from itself?

Title: The Hazards of Skinny Dipping
Author: Alyssa Rose Ivy
This isn't a deep book
about first loves or self-discovery. If you want a book like that, I'd
be happy to recommend one, but I don't have that kind of story to tell.
Instead my story is about rash decisions and finding out that your dream
guy is bad in bed. It's the story of when I finally went skinny
dipping, and how my life was never the same again. Oh, and it's also the
story of my freshman year of college and realizing Mr. Right might have
been there all along.

There wasn't a whole lot of books out this week (that I could find). What book do you have your eye on? I'm leaning toward The Hazards of Skinny Dipping. It sounds good, and the kindle version is only .99 cents! Runes is awesome - I definitely recommend that one!
I've read Transparent and September Girls and would NOT recommend either-I really disliked both books. Luckily this just gives me a chance to catch up on older books and read some of the other ARCs I have.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip. I saw that September Girls had really low ratings.
