Synopsis:
All he's asking for is her soul.
After buying the antebellum home she's fantasized about since childhood, Anna Worthington discovers Luc, a dangerously seductive incubus who has been trapped in the house by a fifty-year-old curse. To rid herself of her problem house guest she'll call on a priest, gypsies, ghost hunters, and the coven of witches from lust bunny hell. All she has to do is resist him long enough to break the spell so they can go their separate ways. If she doesn't, she could die. And that would be the best case scenario.
Review:
I have to admit that I was first drawn to the book because of the cover. There was just something about it that made me want to read it. Now that I've read it, I have to say that the characters on the cover are a perfect fit! In this book, we have Anna – a strongly, independent woman who is buying a house that she has dreamt about since she was a child. We also have Luc – an incubus trapped inside of the home because of a curse.
I loved seeing Anna interact with the “ghost”. There were a lot of humorous moments. This was one of my favorite lines:
“She'd be damned if some freaky sex demon was going to screw up her Barbie Dream House.”
I didn't really like Luc all that much at first. He just seemed like an overconfident prick. After awhile though, he softened and became much more likable. He had a lot of redeeming qualities – even though he did need a harem of women. I also really liked the banter between these two characters.
There was a big twist toward the end that I didn't know what to think of. One one hand, it was clever – but part of me just wasn't happy with it. Overall, I thought this book was really good and I'd recommend it to any adult fan of paranormal romance. Zoe Winters is an author that I will be trying more of!
Great review! Book has very interesting story.
