Spellbound Blog Tour and Giveaway!!

Welcome to my stop on this Amazing Spellbound Blog Tour! This much anticipated novel releases on June 28th! Keep reading for my review on this book, and to find out how you can win!

Synopsis:

What's a girl to do when meeting The One means she's cursed to die a horrible death?

Life hasn't been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Conner, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she's irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.

But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can't stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma's been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.

Review:

Spellbound is a fantastic love story that incorporates reincarnation, romance, and suspense. Emma is a 16 year old girl that has led a tragic life, and moves to New York to live with her aunt. Despite everything that Emma has gone through, she doesn't let it keep her down. She is a wonderful lead character that young girls will be able to look up to. I think that Emma has so many different facets that there will be something each reader will be able to identify with.

I thought Spellbound was amazing. I was hooked from the very beginning. I identified with the main character, Emma, in a lot of ways. I was definitely never one of the cool kids, lacked confidence, had quirky habits, was maybe a little bit dorky – ok, so I like to call it adorkable. However, I found my soul mate in high school, and so did Emma. I think that these similarities are part of what made me feel so connected to this book.

I loved the writing in this book, and I loved the funny thoughts that kept popping into Emma's mind. The characterization is great too. Even the secondary characters were written very well – which added a lot of charm and variety to the book. One of my favorite characters in the book is Brendan. He is part of a rich, prominent family but he is unlike any other guy at Emma's new Upper East Side prep school. He's not stuck on himself and he doesn't let all his money go to his head. He is strong, brave, selfless, sweet, and incredibly handsome. He's basically the type of guy that all teenage girls dream about.

A big part of the story revolves around this necklace that Emma's brother gives her shortly before he dies. During this book, Emma starts researching the interesting design on the medallion to find out the meaning. She finds out this amazing history on the necklace, and about how she is destined to end up with it. Spellbound has a great plot that takes you on a journey to see if you can stop what fate has in store for you. This is one of those books that I think will appeal to people of various ages, and fans of various genres. I think that Cara Lynn Schultz has a huge hit on her hands, and I predict we will be seeing more from her in the near future!
