Awards!

I want to thank Books like Fairytales for giving me these awards!

To accept these awards I must follow some rules. Here they are:

1) Thank the person who gave you the 7 fact award and link back to their blog

2) Post 7 random fast about yourself

3) Past this award to 15 other worthy people!

7 facts about me

1. My name is Tishia - I realized that I don't have my real name on my blog anywhere!

2. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. I'm in pain pretty much every day. I was diagnosed with arthritis when I was 11.

3. I have bad social anxiety. I seriously don't really have any friends. I hardly like to leave the house. I am way more comfortable talking to people online. I'm hoping this book blog will help me to meet new people with the same interests as me - so I don't feel like such a recluse!

4. I know this is obvious - but I loooove to read. I think I'm addicted. I have tons of books I haven't read yet but I still have the need to buy more. I'm sure it drives my husband nuts!

5. I don't watch tv, except for True Blood and Vampire Diaries. I would much rather be online or reading.

6. My 7 year old son was just diagnosed with Asperger's. We all have been going through a lot of stress with this lately.

7. I'm lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom for the moment, but I really need a job. I'm trying to find something I can do online - if you have any ideas - please let me know :)

On a side note, I do have a personal blog where I talk about myself, my family, get things off my chest, etc... If anyone would like the link, just let me know!

Now for the winners! I'd like to nominate the following blogs for these awards:

  1. That was so nice of you to give me these awards :) I just recently started blogging and I've been working super duper hard to make my blog beautiful - it's a great feeling to know that the hard work has paid off! Your story about your son really touched me - my younger sister is mildly mentally retarded, and trust me, I understand how difficult it can be to have a family member who has special needs, regardless of what they are. Just look at it in a positive way - Asperger's is unique, so it makes your son special, unlike anyone else. I'm sure once you understand the syndrome better, you will be able to help him embrace his unique qualities. Just keep smiling! Thanks again Tishia!

  3. Hi Tishia!! I am so glad you thought of my blog for these awards. I'm still learning more things about the book blogging world though I have been doing it for almost a year now. I really appreciate the honesty of your post and thank you for sharing such personal things. Like Mandy above, my brother is mentally challenged due to an accident made by the hospital when he was a baby. We are lucky for him to be alive today at the age of 27. He struggles with seizures and communicating so I definitely can relate since I take care of him. Also, much like you I don't watch tv except for Vampire Diaries. I know he can be a jerk but I'm Team Damon. :) Mandy Lum said it best, try to find the positives in your situation. Anyway, I would love to be your friend, maybe we could be pen pals? My e-mail address is sunshinedavisreads@gmail.com.

  4. Thanks for giving me these! I'm sorry for everything you've been going through.

I also want to be able to work at home, or to be a stay at home mom.

  6. Tishia - what an original name.

I totally get your reclusive existence. I am the same. I have bipolar disorder which doesn't help. I find being around people exhausting - the only person I relax with is my husband - without him I'd be completely cut off from humanity! I'm also sorry about your boys diagnosis. I can't imagine how that is to cope with. Sounds like you couldn't fit in a job even if you had one?

You named to of my favourite TV progs too - add to the Being Human and Walking Dead and that's pretty much it - Apart from movies - Love a good movie!

This is why I'm glad you linked up today at my blog hop. It means I know you now and we can be blogger buddies.

I have some news to share with you - hope you want to get involved and can spread the word.

I have decided to do a linky – it’s called Monday Madness and it’s for those of us who blog and have some connection to mental illness (social anxiety counts). ;D I'd love a community of us to find out about one another and support each other’s blogs. These things notoriously take time to get going but I'm starting it now. Please come and link up if you can.

  7. Thank you so much for this award! Thank you even more for sharing with us about what you and your family are going through. Your and your son's diagnosis are tough, I will pray for your family.

I know how it feels to be happy to stay at home but to know you need a job as well. I work in PR and worked from home until Sept. when I got laid off. I have a 15 month old, so I happy to be home with him, but would love to be able to get another job working from home as well.

Hang in there and if you ever want to send me an email, please do to bookishlilly@gmail.com. BTW, your blog is doing great and growing so fast!
